Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum

The Jackson Hole Museum is located at 105 North Glenwood Street in downtown Jackson, just one block from the historic Town Square. The Museum began in 1958 as a private history museum to house the lifetime collection of W.C. Slim Lawrence. To date, the collection includes over 12,000 artifacts including an array of Native American pottery, weapons and stone tools. The Museum opens Memorial Day Weekend each year and visitors are welcome through the first week of October. Open during this time period Monday - Saturday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Museum of the Mountain Man

Located in Pinedale, Wyoming this museum relieves the legacy of the Mountain Man everyday. About 75 miles south of Jackson Hole, you’ll want to stop and experience this visual and interpretative look into the romantic era of the Mountain man & a comprehensive overview of the Western Fur Trade. Museum hours are 9 am to 5 pm daily from May 1 to September 30. During October the gallery is open 10 am to noon and 1 pm to 3 pm Monday through Friday. Winter hours by special appointment.

The National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center

Come and discover the world of the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep through the hands on displays of The National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center in DuBois, Wyoming. The Center is dedicated to educating the public on the biology and habitat needs of the Bighorn Sheep. Museum is located about 90 miles from Jackson and is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend and 9 am to 5 pm during the winter.

National Museum of Wildlife Art

One of the most celebrated museums of the west, the National Museum of Wildlife Art is a must - see for your visit to Jackson Hole. This collection of fine art paintings, sculptures, and photography are all dedicated strictly to wildlife. The museum features permanent and changing exhibitions, museum shops, a cafe, Children’s Discovery Museum and a library. Open 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday and 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday year round.
